A massive fire broke out at an oil and grease storage godown near Bengaluru, with firefighting efforts still underway to control the blaze

Bengaluru: A massive fire erupted at a 40,000 sq ft oil storage godown in Edakemaranahalli village on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Monday. The facility, reportedly rented to a Shell company for storing oil and grease, spans 5.5 acres.
As of the latest update, 22 fire engines have been deployed to control the blaze, with about 40 per cent of the fire still not under control. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.
The Bengaluru police confirmed the incident and said firefighting operations are ongoing. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities have advised residents to avoid the area as a safety precaution.
