A major fire broke out at Vitthal Hotel on MG Marg in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Monday, causing damage to property worth several lakh rupees, officials said.

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station area. Soon after receiving information about the blaze, teams from the police, fire department and local administration rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations.
