A massive fire broke out at the Ashok Mill Compound in Mumbai’s Dharavi area on Sunday, prompting a major emergency response from fire department officials. No injuries or casualties have been reported so far.

Mumbai: A major fire erupted at the Ashok Mill Compound in the Dharavi area of Mumbai on Sunday, triggering panic in the locality and leading to a large-scale firefighting operation.
According to officials, fire department teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the blaze. Emergency personnel immediately began efforts to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries or deaths have been reported in the incident till now. Officials said rescue and cooling operations were continuing as firefighters worked to fully contain the blaze.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been identified, and further details are awaited from local authorities.

Visuals from the area showed thick smoke rising from the compound as multiple fire engines and emergency teams remained deployed at the site.
Officials are monitoring the situation closely to ensure the fire does not spread further in the densely populated Dharavi region.
Series of recent fire incidents in Maharashtra
The latest incident adds to several recent fire accidents reported across Maharashtra.
Earlier in April, a major fire broke out at a dumping ground in Thane district, requiring multiple fire tenders to control the flames. Fire Officer Namdev Chaudhary had said a second fire broke out later in the evening after the initial blaze was extinguished.
Another fire was reported on April 19 at a dyeing factory in Bhiwandi’s Nadi Naka area, though no casualties were reported there either.
In a separate incident in Mumbai Central, a massive blaze erupted near D B Marg opposite Reliance Mall. The fire spread through several shops and rooms inside a chawl. Firefighters, police officials, BEST staff, and BMC teams were deployed to manage the emergency.
