BJP candidate Ashish Shelar achieved a significant win in the Vandre West (Bandra) seat in Maharashtra, securing 82,780 votes. INC's Asif Ahmed Zakaria came in second place with 62,849 votes, and BSP's Aijaz Iqbal Qureshi got 472 votes.

The counting of votes began at 8 am on Saturday in the Vandre West seat where the election witnessed a major battle. 

The Vandre West Assembly constituency (number 177), located in Mumbai Suburban district, is set for another intense political battle in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. A General category seat, Vandre West is part of the Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha constituency and has been a major battleground in recent elections.

Ashish Shelar of the BJP, who has represented Vandre West since 2014, is seeking re-election in 2024. Shelar, a prominent figure in Mumbai politics, will face off against Congress’ Asif Zakaria, who contested against him in 2019.
