Gujarat: A late-night encounter between a wild lion and the residents of Kovaya village in Rajula taluka, Amreli district in Gujarat, has captured nationwide attention after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The lion reportedly entered a residential home, triggering chaos and fear among the occupants.

The forest department confirmed that the lion strayed into the village from a nearby forest area, likely in search of prey. It entered a house and lingered in the kitchen, according to locals, leaving the family members in shock. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

A swift response team from the Rajula Forest Department was dispatched to the scene. The team managed to safely relocate the lion back to the wild, bringing relief to the villagers.

This is not the first time lions have ventured into human settlements in this region. The Gir forest, which is home to Asiatic lions, lies in proximity, and such sightings have become more frequent in recent years, particularly during dry seasons or food scarcity.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about human-wildlife conflict in parts of Gujarat, especially in areas bordering forest zones. Authorities have urged villagers to remain vigilant and report any future sightings immediately.

The video footage continues to circulate online, drawing both concern and fascination from the public.
