A landslide near Eco Park in Baramulla blocked the Srinagar–Baramulla highway, bringing traffic to a halt

Srinagar: Traffic movement on the Srinagar–Baramulla–Uri National Highway (NH-1) came to a standstill after a landslide hit the Eco Park area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. No casualties have been reported so far.
According to reports, debris from the landslide blocked the Baramulla–Srinagar National Highway near Eco Park along the Uri subdivision stretch.
As rocks started sliding down the mountainside, commuters left their vehicles on the highway and rushed to safety, creating chaos at the location.
As per reports, a section of a mountain near Uri suddenly collapsed, sending large volumes of debris crashing onto the highway. People barely had time to understand the situation before they hurried out of their cars to avoid danger. Many vehicles were on the road at the time of the incident. Vehicular movement on the route has since been suspended, while work to remove the debris is now underway.
