New Delhi: A major landslide at a stone quarry in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district on Saturday caused a large section of a hillside to collapse, leaving several labourers feared trapped under the rubble.
The incident took place in the Billi area under the Obra police station limits. According to media reports, a portion of the hill suddenly broke away, sending enormous stone slabs crashing into the quarry below.
Rescue teams have since begun clearing the debris, racing to locate the missing workers as the situation remains tense. Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether there are any casualties or not.
