The Ministry of External Affairs has firmly rejected China’s position on Ladakh, reiterating India’s territorial claim and asserting that Beijing’s denial cannot change the facts.

India has sent a firm message to Beijing over Ladakh, asserting that the territory remains an integral part of the country and that China’s denial cannot change that reality.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has pushed back against China’s position on Ladakh, reiterating New Delhi’s stand on the territory amid continuing sensitivities over the India-China dispute.
In its response, the MEA maintained that denying Ladakh’s status as part of India would not change the facts on the ground. The statement underlines India’s continued rejection of China’s position and its assertion of territorial integrity.
The latest exchange adds to the longstanding tensions between New Delhi and Beijing over territorial claims and the disputed border.
Both countries maintain differing positions on parts of their frontier, making territorial sovereignty a persistent source of friction in bilateral relations.
India has consistently maintained that Ladakh, along with the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, is an integral and inalienable part of the country. New Delhi has repeatedly rejected claims or references by other countries that it considers contrary to its territorial position.
The MEA’s latest response reinforces that stance, making clear that China’s denial does not alter India’s position on Ladakh.
