Joint teams from police, army, and CRPF searched properties of relatives and associates of terrorists and Overground Workers.

Ramban: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday conducted extensive cordon and search operations (CASOs) across the Banihal and Gool areas of Ramban district to strengthen the security grid and maintain peace in the region.
According to officials, the operations were carried out under the supervision of SSP Ramban Arun Gupta and focused on tracing suspicious activities linked to relatives of Jammu and Kashmir natives operating from Pakistan (JKNOPs). The teams also verified the antecedents of suspected individuals and tightened security in sensitive and vulnerable zones.
During the operations, houses of relatives and known associates of active J&K-based terrorists operating from Pakistan and Overground Workers (OGWs) were searched. The police teams thoroughly inspected multiple premises to ensure no anti-national or unlawful activities were being carried out or supported.
Joint teams from Ramban Police, the Indian Army, CRPF, and SOG units—assisted by duty magistrates—executed the operations in a coordinated manner across several sensitive areas, ensuring that no inconvenience was caused to residents.
Police clarified that such intelligence-driven operations are part of preventive security measures aimed at preserving the district’s peace and stability. Ramban Police reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling anti-national networks and ensuring the safety of civilians.
Authorities also appealed to the public to extend cooperation and report any suspicious movement or activity in their locality, assuring that the identity of informants would remain confidential.
