Jamia Millia Islamia will resume offline classes on November 10 after students ended their 18-day protest over the restoration of the students' union. Mid-term exams will be held from November 16 to 21.

Jamia Millia Islamia will resume offline classes from November 10 after students called off their 18-day protest over the restoration of the students' union, the university announced on Friday.
The university has also scheduled the second mid-term examinations to be held offline from November 16 to 21, according to an order issued by Registrar Prof. Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi.
The order directs deans, heads of departments and directors to make arrangements for the smooth conduct of classes and examinations. They have also been asked to maintain students' attendance and other academic records regularly. The latest order supersedes earlier notices issued on October 24, 26 and 28.
The decision follows the end of the student agitation on Thursday night. The protest, which began on October 12, included a hunger strike and centred on the demand to restore the Jamia Millia Islamia Students' Union (JMISU).
Meanwhile, more than 2,000 teaching and non-teaching employees attended a thanksgiving programme on Friday afternoon on the lawns of the Ansari Auditorium.
According to a university statement, the employees thanked the administration for resolving the two-decade-long impasse over students' union elections. They welcomed the October 29 order approving the implementation of the JMISU Constitution and credited the administration's efforts to resolve the issue through dialogue.
The employees also acknowledged the support and guidance extended by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Home Affairs during the previous two weeks.
The university said the staff viewed the administration's repeated engagement with protesting students as key to reaching a cordial and democratic resolution.
However, teaching staff called for strict action against those allegedly responsible for writing anti-national graffiti and slogans on university walls and vandalising gates and other infrastructure.
They also criticised social media posts portraying the developments as a contest between winners and losers, saying such narratives could create divisions within the university community.
