The boutique outlet, Tyohaar, located in the city's upscale Vaishali Nagar area, is making waves with its opulent offerings

Jaipur: This Diwali, a sweet shop in Jaipur is adding a touch of luxury to tradition by offering mithai made with real 24-carat gold and silver, transforming festive sweets into high-end indulgences.
The boutique outlet, Tyohaar, located in the city's upscale Vaishali Nagar area, is making waves with its opulent offerings – ‘Swarn Bhasm Paak’ made with edible gold, and ‘Chaandi Bhasm Paak’ crafted using silver ash. Prices for these delicacies start from ₹45,000 and reach an eye-watering ₹1.11 lakh per kilogram (approx. £1,100).
At the heart of this luxury sweet revolution is Anjali Jain, a Chartered Accountant-turned-entrepreneur. Jain says the concept was inspired by her passion for Ayurveda and India’s rich culinary heritage.
“Today, this sweet is the most expensive sweet in India. Its price is ₹1,11,000. Its appearance and packaging are also very premium. It is packed in a jewellery box, and its making includes Chilgoza, which is the most expensive and premium dry fruit today,” Jain told news agency ANI.
“It is being infused with real edible gold, also called Gold Ashes. 24-carat gold, also known as Swarna Bhasma, is being infused in it. We are also applying gold work on it, bought from a Jain temple, which is animal cruelty-free. It is coated with saffron and topped with pine nuts. Hence, its price is very high-end,” she added.
Jain further explained that the gold and silver infusions used in the sweets are derived from traditional Ayurvedic practices. “The gold ash we have incorporated into it comes from Indian Ayurveda. So, anything that reflects Indian tradition is inherently priceless,” she said.
