Kriti Singh, a resident of Sector 128, Noida, lodged the complaint at Sector 126 Police Station on 16 October

Noida: An FIR has been registered against a Karnataka-cadre IPS officer and six others following allegations of dowry harassment, domestic violence, and related offences. The complaint was filed by the officer’s wife, a Noida-based doctor, police confirmed on Saturday.
According to officials, the FIR names Shivanshu Rajput, a 2019-batch Indian Police Service officer currently posted in Bengaluru. Alongside him, his father, mother, brother, sister-in-law, and two family friends have also been named in the case.
Kriti Singh, a resident of Sector 128, Noida, lodged the complaint at Sector 126 Police Station on 16 October. In her detailed 41-page submission, Singh alleged that she had been subjected to both physical and mental abuse, as well as persistent dowry demands, since her marriage in December 2021, which took place at a five-star hotel in Agra. The couple has a one-and-a-half-year-old son.
"The FIR has been registered under sections 85, 115(2), 352, 351(2), 3(5), and 316(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, as well as sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961," said Bhupendra Kumar, Station In-charge of Sector 126 Police Station.
Singh claims that her family spent over ₹2 crore on the wedding, including expenses on jewellery and other items. Despite this, she alleged that her in-laws continued to press for more dowry. The complaint also accuses the IPS officer of having extramarital relationships and threatening to leave her when confronted.
"The investigation is underway and statements of the complainant and accused will be recorded soon," added the station in-charge.
No further comment has been made by the accused or his legal representatives at this time.
