Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday searched the premises of former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen and several others as part of a money laundering investigation, officials said.

A total of 15 locations were targeted during the raids, which were carried out in relation to alleged financial irregularities within an organisation responsible for organising Durga Puja preview shows, according to officials.

It is alleged that massArt (Mahanirban Road Mass Art Society), an entity headed by Sen's wife, solicited substantial funds from the public under the false assertion that the money was designated for a UNESCO-sponsored body, subsequently diverting those funds for private benefit, officials said.

An immediate comment could not be obtained from Sen or massArt regarding the agency's action.
