Bengaluru: A recent IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Bengaluru has drawn attention online after a passenger shared a detailed LinkedIn post describing a difficult travel experience. The passenger, Sayantika Banerjee, listed several issues and said the airline’s handling of the situation fell far below expectations.

Banerjee wrote that her flight, 6E573, was delayed by nearly three hours. She said passengers were not given timely updates or clear information about the reason for the delay. According to her, the ground staff provided “misleading and inconsistent” details about both the delay and the boarding process, leaving many travellers confused.

She added that passengers were later told the delay happened partly because the First Officer reported late, something she described as unacceptable for an airline that highlights punctuality as a core strength.

Banerjee also alleged that a cabin crew member behaved “rudely and unprofessionally,” which she said added to the frustration during an already stressful situation.

Travelling with her elderly father, she wrote that the lack of guidance and the long delay caused him “considerable discomfort and stress.” She has asked IndiGo to investigate the incident, take action against the staff involved and offer compensation or a goodwill gesture for the inconvenience caused.

IndiGo responded to her post in the comments section, saying: “Ms Banerjee, we regret the inconvenience caused during your recent travel with us. Your feedback is valuable. Please allow us some time to look into the matter further, and we’ll reach out to you soon.”

The post has since gone viral, reigniting conversations among travellers about the importance of clear communication and supportive service during long delays.
