The incident occurred at approximately 10:30am at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. IndiGo flight 6E-2111, with 151 passengers on board

Lucknow: Passengers aboard an IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Delhi, including Member of Parliament Dimple Yadav, wife of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, experienced a moment of panic on Saturday morning when the aircraft was forced to abort take-off due to a technical issue.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 am at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. IndiGo flight 6E-2111, with 151 passengers on board, had reached the runway when the pilots detected that the engines were not producing the required thrust for take-off. In response, the pilot swiftly alerted Air Traffic Control and applied emergency brakes, bringing the aircraft to a halt.
Suraj Singh, a passenger from Gonda associated with the Samajwadi Party, shared his account on social media, describing how the abrupt stop sparked panic inside the cabin. Crew members reportedly moved quickly to calm passengers, explaining that a technical fault had been detected and that the aircraft would be returned to the terminal for inspection.
Passengers transferred, engineers investigate
Following the aborted take-off, all passengers were safely disembarked and transferred to an alternative aircraft for the journey to Delhi. Dimple Yadav, who was travelling in business class, was among those moved to the replacement flight.
IndiGo issued an apology for the disruption and confirmed that standard safety protocols were followed throughout. Engineers launched a thorough inspection of the grounded aircraft, although sources indicated that the precise nature of the fault remained unclear several hours after the incident. It was reported that the plane was unable to move forward on the runway, prompting a detailed technical examination.
Despite the initial scare, all passengers were eventually flown to Delhi without further issues.
