IndiGo has begun direct Mumbai and Delhi flights to Athens, offering India’s first nonstop air connectivity with Greece.

New Delhi: IndiGo has started direct flight operations between Delhi, Mumbai and Athens, creating the first nonstop air connection between India and Greece and expanding its international network into Europe.
The service, which commenced on Friday, is being operated using the airline’s new Airbus A321 XLR aircraft. With this launch, IndiGo becomes the first Indian carrier to link the two countries through a direct route.
In a release, the airline said it will connect Athens and Delhi using the same aircraft from January 24.
"Namaste Athens! We’re thrilled to operate our first-ever flights to Athens from Mumbai and Delhi. Here are some special moments from our inaugural journey," the company said in a statement.
The Airbus A321 XLR operating the India–Greece services features a dual-class cabin layout. The aircraft is equipped with 12 IndiGoStretch seats and 183 seats in the Economy cabin.

Mumbai to Athens: Flight 6E 1903 | Departs 9.50 am | Arrives 2:15 pm
Athens to Mumbai: Flight 6E 1904 | Departs 3.25 pm | Arrives 2 am (+1 day)

Delhi–Athens (effective January 24, 2026)
Delhi to Athens: Flight 6E 1901 | Departs 9.10 am | Arrives 2.25 pm
Athens to Delhi: Flight 6E 1902 | Departs 4 pm | Arrives 3.10 am (+1 day)

- IndiGo’s Airbus A321XLR aircraft operating the India–Greece routes comes with a dual-class cabin layout, created to offer greater comfort on long-haul journeys while retaining the airline’s efficient operating structure.
- The aircraft features 12 IndiGoStretch seats that provide extra legroom, improved seating comfort and premium service offerings.
- Passengers travelling in IndiGoStretch will receive complimentary alcoholic beverages along with priority services, aimed at ensuring a smoother and more relaxed journey.
- The Economy cabin is fitted with 183 seats, designed to deliver a comfortable and contemporary travel experience.
- Complimentary hot meals and beverages will be served to passengers in all cabins, drawing inspiration from both international and regional cuisines.
- Vegetarian meals will be offered as the standard option, while travellers can choose to pre-book non-vegetarian meals if preferred.
- Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase in the Economy Class, with passengers also given the option to pre-book beverages before departure.
- The aircraft is equipped with a next-generation digital in-flight entertainment system, enabling passengers to stream content directly on their personal devices during the flight.
