New Delhi: The India AI Impact Summit 2026 entered Day 2 on Tuesday at Bharat Mandapam, with a major focus on healthcare innovation as Union Health Minister JP Nadda is set to launch two important national initiatives aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into India’s health system.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the minister will unveil the Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare for India (SAHI) and the Benchmarking Open Data Platform for Health AI (BODH) during the summit.

Day 2 focus: AI in healthcare

Day 2 of the global summit highlights how artificial intelligence can transform healthcare delivery while ensuring safety, transparency and ethical usage.

The SAHI framework has been designed as a national guideline to support the responsible adoption of AI in healthcare. It aims to provide direction on governance, data management, validation and monitoring of AI tools, while helping states and institutions implement solutions aligned with public health priorities.

The second initiative, BODH, has been developed by IIT Kanpur in collaboration with the National Health Authority. The platform allows evaluation and benchmarking of AI models using real-world health data while maintaining privacy by avoiding direct data sharing.

Officials said the platform is part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and is expected to improve trust, transparency and quality control in health-related AI applications.

Global participation continues on Day 2

The summit, being held for the first time in the Global South, has drawn participation from world leaders, ministers, technology companies, researchers and industry representatives.

Over 20 Heads of State, 60 ministers, and hundreds of global AI experts are attending the event, which focuses on turning AI discussions into practical development outcomes under the IndiaAI Mission and Digital India initiative.

Alongside policy discussions, the AI Expo at Bharat Mandapam continues to attract visitors. Spread across 10 arenas and more than 70,000 square metres, the expo features over 300 exhibition pavilions and participation from more than 600 startups showcasing AI solutions across sectors.

Organisers expect over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates, during the five-day event.
