
Renowned Telugu film producer Dil Raju, who was behind Ram Charan's latest film 'Game Changer', is under the scanner of the Income Tax (IT) Department, which raided multiple properties linked to him across Hyderabad.
According to reports, the IT officials began their search operations early in the morning, inspecting several locations associated with top producers in the Telugu film industry. The raids are taking place at eight different locations, including Banjara Hills, Kondapur, Jubilee Hills, and Gachibowli.
Apart from Dil Raju, his business partner and fellow producer Sirish, as well as his daughter Hansita Reddy, have also come under the IT Department’s radar, with their properties being searched. The producers of 'Pushpa 2' and Mythri Movie Makers are also facing investigations, as officials are looking into financial transactions and alleged tax discrepancies within the Telugu film industry.
The raids have caused a major stir in Tollywood, raising concerns about potential financial irregularities among high-profile film producers. However, no official statement has been released regarding the findings of the searches so far.
Who is Dil Raju?
Born as Velamakucha Venkata Ramana Reddy, Dil Raju is a prominent figure in Tollywood, having produced several blockbuster films under his banner, Sri Venkateswara Creations. In addition to his work in Telugu cinema, he has also ventured into Tamil and Hindi film productions.
Recently, Dil Raju was appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation. His recent releases have performed well at the box office, further strengthening his standing in the industry.
With a career spanning over two decades, Dil Raju has won two National Film Awards and was honoured with the Nagi Reddy–Chakrapani National Award in 2013.
As the IT Department continues its investigations into financial dealings, the Telugu film fraternity awaits further updates on the outcome of the raids.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding any potential financial irregularities, and more details are expected in the coming days.
