Jaipur: Abhay Singh, also known as 'IIT Baba,' has addressed rumours surrounding his alleged arrest following a recent incident where cannabis was found in his possession. The reports sparked a wave of confusion, with several news outlets claiming that he had been detained by authorities. However, the self-styled spiritual leader has clarified that he was never arrested, as the quantity of the narcotic substance was small and considered a low-level offense.

While the reports of his arrest circulated, Abhay Singh was seen celebrating his birthday in Jaipur with a group of followers. Speaking to the media, he dismissed the rumours, calling them “fake news.”

“There are three-four fake news stories: one is about my suicide, another about my detention. The only truth in all of this is that bail was granted right then and there,” he said, emphasising that his possession of cannabis was in a minimal quantity, which led to no formal arrest.

The incident occurred during a routine check when the narcotic substance was found in the possession of the controversial figure. Police confirmed that since it was a minor offense, no arrest was made at that time.

Abhay Singh, who gained fame during the Maha Kumbh, has long been a figure of interest due to his self-proclaimed spiritual practices.
