Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday thanked officials and police personnel for handling the ongoing student movement with 'restraint, sensitivity and complete responsibility', while assuring protesting students that their concerns would be addressed.

In a post on X, Soren said students had raised their demands peacefully and stressed that expressing their views was their democratic right.

He said the government had heard their concerns and that senior ministers had been in constant dialogue with the protesters. 'Action will be taken on your demands with utmost seriousness and sensitivity,' Soren said.

The Chief Minister said the government was committed to addressing shortcomings in the examination system and making it more 'transparent, technology-enabled, secure and accountable'.

He also urged students to participate in efforts to bring reforms to the system.

Soren further alleged that some opposition leaders had attempted to 'spoil the atmosphere' and mislead students for political gain. He appealed to the protesters not to fall for what he described as political narratives.

Addressing the students as the 'future of Jharkhand', Soren said the government had a responsibility to listen to their concerns and resolve their problems. He concluded by calling for dialogue and trust to resolve the issue.
