Haryana: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh made strong remarks against former wrestler Vinesh Phogat following her victory from the Julana constituency. Singh mentioned that many BJP candidates have successfully won in constituencies with a significant 'Jaat' population.

Highlighting the success of these candidates, giving credit to the party's influence in the region, Singh said, "Many BJP candidates have won on 'Jaat' majority seats."

Regarding Vinesh Phogat's victory in Julana, Singh took a critical stance on the wrestlers involved in the recent protests, saying, "The so-called wrestlers in the wrestler's agitation are not the heroes of Haryana. They are villains, even for the junior wrestlers."

Singh also added that if Phogat used his name to secure her victory, it only shows his own importance.

"If she used my name to win, it means I am a great man who helped her win," he said.

"She won, but Congress lost. Wherever she goes, only destruction will follow," he criticised.

Congress candidate Vinesh Phogat on Tuesday emerged victorious in Julana Assambly Constituency in Haryana as she defeated Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Yogesh Kumar as per the Election Commission of India. The former wrestler defeated her rival with a margin of 5761 votes.

After winning from Julana, Vinesh Phogat said, "This is the fight of every girl, every woman who chooses the path to fight. This is the victory of every struggle, of truth. I will maintain the love and trust that this country has given me."
