Dharamshala: A 27-year-old tourist from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, tragically died today after a paraglider crashed shortly after take-off at the Indru Nag site near Dharamshala on Sunday. The victim, identified as Satish, succumbed to his severe injuries while undergoing treatment.
The incident occurred when Satish was on a tandem paragliding flight with pilot Suraj. The glider reportedly lost control moments after launching. Satish suffered extensive injuries, while the pilot, Suraj, is currently receiving treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the accident, examining potential safety violations at the site. This marks the second paragliding fatality at Indru Nag this year, contributing to a concerning statistic of over a dozen adventure sports-related deaths across Himachal Pradesh in the last 30 months.
