Grammy-winning composer Ricky Kej has alleged that a food delivery driver trespassed into his home and stole a sump cover, sharing CCTV footage and tagging the delivery platform and Bengaluru City Police.

Bengaluru: Grammy-winning music composer and Padma Shri awardee Ricky Kej on Saturday alleged that a delivery partner from an online food delivery platform may have trespassed into his residence and stolen a sump cover, prompting responses from both the company concerned and the Bengaluru City Police.
Allegation shared on social media
Kej took to social media platform X to raise the issue publicly, tagging the food delivery platform and its customer support handle. In his post, he alleged that the incident took place on Thursday evening.
"I was robbed! Dear @zomato @zomatocare, looks like one of your drivers entered my home on Thursday and stole our sump cover. This was at 6 o'clock in the evening. Quite bold of them!" he wrote.
The composer further claimed that the individual had come to the premises around 15 minutes earlier, allegedly to assess the surroundings before returning to carry out the theft.
According to Kej, CCTV cameras captured the incident from two different angles. He shared video clips, still images showing the person’s face and details of the vehicle used by the suspect.
Tagging the Bengaluru City Police in his post, Kej sought help in identifying the individual involved. "Possible for you or the @BlrCityPolice to provide assistance, as to who this person is?" he said.
He also cautioned the public, warning that similar incidents could happen elsewhere. "This can happen to you too!" he added.
Response from Zomato and police
Zomato Care responded to the allegations, stating that such conduct was unacceptable and assuring that the matter would be looked into.
"Ricky, this is really concerning, and we certainly don't encourage such behaviour from our delivery partners. We'll investigate this immediately so that necessary action can be taken, and we'd request you to kindly share your mobile number with us via DM so we can connect with you further," the company said.
The Bengaluru City Police also replied to Kej’s post, asking him to share his contact details and the location of the incident to enable further action.
