New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday called for the demolition of Birch by Romeo Lane, the nightclub in Goa’s Arpora where a blaze claimed 25 lives.

Investigation had revealed a long list of illegalities according to the original landowner Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar, which were ignored for nearly two decades.

Meanwhile, Goa police on Tuesday has sought the assistance of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to secure an Interpol Blue Notice against Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, the principal accused and owners of the nightclub. The move comes after the brothers fled the country.

According to police, the Luthras are believed to have left for Phuket, Thailand, within hours of the blaze on Saturday.

The postmortem on all 25 deceased has been completed and bodies handed over to their families.

When is a Blue Notice issued?

An Interpol Blue Notice is issued to gather information about an individual’s identity, whereabouts or activities in connection with a criminal inquiry. Officials confirmed that the agency is liaising with Interpol to trace the fugitives.

A Red Notice, which seeks the detention of a wanted person, can only be issued once a charge sheet has been filed and a non‑bailable warrant obtained.
