The incident led to moments of panic on board as the aircraft remained in the air for nearly three hours

Bengaluru: A Fly91 flight operating from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru on Sunday after adverse weather conditions prevented it from landing safely, airport officials confirmed, adding that all passengers were unharmed.
The incident led to moments of panic on board as the aircraft remained in the air for nearly three hours. Some passengers were reportedly distressed, with a few seen praying as the flight encountered prolonged delays mid-air.
The service had departed Hyderabad at around 3.30 pm and was scheduled to land in Hubballi by 4.30 pm. However, poor weather conditions at the destination forced the pilot to hold the aircraft in a holding pattern for approximately an hour in the hope of an improvement.
According to airport officials, such diversions are standard safety procedures. “Due to bad weather, the flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru,” an official said, noting that the final decision rests with the pilot in command.

The aircraft eventually landed safely in Bengaluru at around 6.30 pm. It later resumed its journey and reached Hubballi at approximately 11 pm once conditions improved.
Sources said there were 22 passengers on board at the time of the diversion. Officials reiterated that all passengers remained safe throughout the incident.
Authorities also highlighted similar weather-related disruptions in the region, including a separate case in which a Mumbai–Kolhapur flight was diverted to Goa.
Officials maintained that flight diversions due to weather are precautionary measures taken to ensure passenger safety.
