Agatti: Airline services at the Agatti airport in Lakshadweep were disrupted as a flight of the Alliance Air remained parked at the airport following a technical snag. Hundreds of Malayalees were among those who were affected by this. This included elderly people and children as well. The aircraft couldn’t be repaired until this afternoon.

The aircraft was supposed to leave the airport by 11 AM yesterday. But people were asked to get down the flight as the plane couldn’t fly owing to technical issues. Since the airport is too tiny to accommodate multiple flights at a time, all the other services are currently remaining suspended, pushing the passengers into deep disarray.

The experience proved a literal nightmare for the passengers as the airport lacks support facilities including eateries and other necessary services. People were caught off guard without food and lodging facilities. A few food packets were distributed among the passengers by the airline service providers.

Dispirited passengers stated they will submit a complaint to the DGCA, explaining the financial and mental stress they suffered due to the incident.
