Rumours about Indian cricketer Rinku Singh’s engagement to Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj began circulating on social media on Friday. Multiple media outlets and journalists shared the news, with some congratulating Rinku on his alleged engagement. However, the excitement quickly turned to confusion when Priya Saroj’s father, Tufani Saroj, denied the claims.

Father’s Clarification
Tufani Saroj, a three-time Member of Parliament (MP) and current Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Kerakat, Jaunpur, clarified that the engagement had not taken place. He explained that while discussions were ongoing between the two families, no engagement had occurred. Priya, he added, was in Kerala's Thiruvananthapuram for work.

Priya Saroj represents the Machhlishahr constituency in Uttar Pradesh and is known for her political experience and legal education. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh is preparing for his next cricketing challenge. He will be part of India’s five-match T20I series against England, which begins on January 22.
