New Delhi: Amid controversies, E P Jayarajan met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at Kerala House in New Delhi on Saturday. Jayarajan told media that it was just a routine meeting and had met the Chief Minister even the other day as well. "Politics can be discussed in other platform and the memories of Yechury fill our minds," he said.

Following his removal from the position of LDF convenor, EP Jayarajan stayed away from the CPM state secretariat meeting and from the memorial function for Chadayan Govindan. It was during the last secretariat meeting that Jayarajan was removed as LDF convenor. After the meeting, EP had left for Kannur without attending the state committee meeting.

"EP is undergoing Ayurvedic treatment and is not dissatisfied. If you go to his house in the morning, you can meet him," said CPM Kannur District Secretary MV Jayarajan at the Chadayan Govindan memorial event when asked about his absence.

Last month, CPM removed Jayarajan as the LDF convener. CPM state secretary M V Govindan made the announcement at a press conference following the party's state committee meeting.

Govindan said that Jayarajan was no longer the LDF convener due to some statements made by him during the Lok Sabha polls and certain limitations he had in carrying out the Left front's activities.

Jayarajan has reportedly been under fire from the party ever since he had admitted, in April, to meeting BJP leader Prakash Javadekar.

Following the revelation by Jayarajan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had cautioned his party colleague to be vigilant in his associations.

Speculation was rife since Saturday morning that Jayarajan had resigned or was removed from the post of LDF convener after he abstained from the CPI(M) state committee meeting and returned to his home in Kannur.
