Kochi: The Enforcement Directorate executed coordinated searches across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Kerala on Thursday as part of a money laundering probe linked to narcotics trafficking, officials stated.

Roughly 30 locations were targeted during the operation, including sites in Chennai and Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu, alongside Kochi, Kannur, Malappuram, and Thrissur in Kerala, according to authorities. The raids were conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The agency's action stems from approximately eight police First Information Reports (FIRs) concerning drug trafficking, forming part of the central government's 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' or Drug-Free India initiative, officials added.
