Crash details and context

Visuals of the crash aired on TV channels showed the fighter jet dropping altitude before hitting the ground and bursting into flames, leaving spectators shocked.

This is the second Tejas crash, the first being near Jaisalmer in March 2024, when the pilot ejected safely. The LCA Tejas is a 4.5-generation, all-weather, multi-role fighter designed for offensive air support, close combat, ground attacks, and maritime operations.

At the Dubai Air Show, India and Germany revived high-technology defence collaboration after nearly three decades, with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signing a landmark contract with German sensor major HENSOLDT.
