New Delhi: The Election Commission of India will publish the draft electoral rolls of three states and two Union Territories on Tuesday, December 16, as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voters’ list, officials said.

According to the poll panel, the draft rolls will be released for West Bengal, Rajasthan, Goa, Puducherry and Lakshadweep. The Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) and District Election Officers (DEOs) will provide hard copies of the draft voters’ list to all recognised political parties.

In addition, the draft electoral rolls, along with lists of absent, shifted, deceased and duplicate electors, will be uploaded on the CEO and DEO official websites to ensure transparency and public access.

Last week, the Election Commission extended the Special Intensive Revision timeline for five states and one Union Territory following requests from CEOs. The revised schedule applies to Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The enumeration period for these six states and the UT was originally set to conclude last Thursday, with the draft electoral rolls scheduled for publication on December 16. However, the commission revised the timelines to allow additional time for voter verification.

For Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, the enumeration period has been extended until December 14, with the draft voters’ list to be published on December 19. In Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, enumeration will continue until December 18, and the draft rolls will be released on December 23.

In Uttar Pradesh, the enumeration period has been extended until December 26, and the draft electoral rolls will be published on December 31, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the enumeration process for Goa, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan and West Bengal will conclude on Thursday, with the draft electoral rolls to be released on December 16 as scheduled.

The Election Commission had earlier revised the schedule for Kerala, where the enumeration period will end on December 18, and the draft electoral roll will be published on December 23.
