DK Shivakumar is likely to take oath as Karnataka Chief Minister on June 3. Congress leaders will meet Governor Thawarchand Gehlot today.

Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar is likely to be sworn in as the state's new Chief Minister on June 3, according to reports.
The latest update ends days of speculation over the Karnataka chief minister oath-taking ceremony following the resignation of outgoing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday.
Reports suggested that the swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a simple affair, with the new DK Shivakumar-led Cabinet also likely to take charge alongside him. The Congress leadership has been finalising preparations for the transition of power in the state.
The date of the oath-taking ceremony had become a subject of intense discussion in political circles over the past few days. Reports had earlier suggested that astrologers consulted by Shivakumar had recommended June 5 for the ceremony. However, sources have now indicated that June 3 has emerged as the likely date for the event.
