Jodhpur: The Border Security Force (BSF) successfully foiled a major terror attack and carried out a decisive strike on Pakistan’s Luni terror launch pad along the Western Border, officials confirmed. Interestingly, the incident came in conjunction with Operation Sindoor. However, the details of the operation carried out by BSF have come out.

Speaking to the media, BSF DIG SS Mand said, "On 8th May 2025, our surveillance detected the movement of 40-50 persons approaching the border. We launched pre-emptive strikes. Soon after, Pakistan opened fire on BSF Border Outposts (BOPs), to which we retaliated effectively. Intelligence inputs suggest that many terrorists, their supporters, Rangers, and officers were harmed in the strike."

IG BSF Jammu Shashank Anand stated, "On 9th May, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing near Akhnoor. Between the 9th and 10th May, there was heavy firing along the Akhnoor border belt. As part of a planned operation, BSF targeted Pakistan’s Luni terror launch pad."

In a separate briefing at the BSF headquarters in Jodhpur, Inspector General ML Garg (Rajasthan Frontier) revealed that Pakistan attempted 413 drone attacks on the districts of Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar on the previous day. However, all were successfully neutralised mid-air by India’s advanced air defence systems.

Garg said, "Pakistan targeted sensitive locations, including the Phalodi air base, but our forces responded with precise timing and accuracy. None of the missiles or drones managed to reach Indian soil or cause damage to any military or civilian facility."

He added, "Before impact, our anti-missile and air defence systems destroyed the threats mid-air. The debris found on the ground was merely parts of drones or empty missile shells."

While some houses suffered minor structural damage, Garg expressed satisfaction that no civilian casualties were reported on the Western Border.
