New Delhi: A 30-year-old judicial officer posted at Karkardooma Court was found dead at his Green Park residence in Delhi, with police initiating an investigation and indicating that early findings suggest a possible case of suicide.

A 30-year-old judge, identified as Aman Kumar Sharma, was found dead at his home in Green Park on Saturday evening, police said. He was serving as Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at Karkardooma Court.

Police suspect suicide

According to preliminary information, police suspect the case to be one of suicide. A PCR call was received at Safdarjung Enclave police station, after which officers reached the spot and confirmed the death.

Officials said the PCR call was made by the judge’s brother-in-law, Shivam, who resides in Defence Colony. The body was later taken for post-mortem examination as part of standard procedure.

As per official records, Sharma joined the Delhi Judicial Services on June 19, 2021. He completed his BA LLB from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, in 2018, and had served in multiple judicial roles handling civil and criminal matters.

He is survived by his wife, who is also a judge, and two children, including an infant.

Police have initiated further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Officials said all aspects are being examined before reaching a final conclusion.
