New Delhi: The Delhi Election Commission clarified on Saturday that a notice served to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls formed part of a routine verification procedure, confirming that her electoral details have been validated.

In an official statement, the Commission explained that the entry for Rekha Gupta, a registered voter in Assembly Constituency 14 (Shalimar Bagh), was flagged within a list of logical discrepancies based on particulars provided in the Enumeration Form during the SIR exercise.

"As per the standard operating procedures of the Election Commission of India (ECI), a Notice was issued to the elector and physical field verification was conducted by the designated Booth Level Officer (BLO)," the statement said.

The Commission added that following the verification of facts and supporting documentation provided by the elector, the Delhi Chief Minister's entry was validated and marked for inclusion in the Final Electoral Roll of AC-14 (Shalimar Bagh), which is slated for official publication on 4 November, according to the ECI.

Reiterating its commitment to a transparent and inclusive revision drive, the Delhi Election Commission stated its objective remains ensuring "no eligible citizen is left out while no ineligible person is included in the Electoral Roll."

The clarification follows similar notices issued to former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal alongside members of his family as part of the capital's electoral roll revision.

Notices were dispatched to Arvind Kejriwal, his wife Sunita Kejriwal, son Pulkit Kejriwal, and parents Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi under the category of electors "unmapped with last SIR" in Delhi.

Official records from the Delhi Election Commission indicate that Arvind Kejriwal and five family members are among 110 registered voters in Part-51, KG Marg, within the New Delhi Assembly constituency who were issued notices. Arvind Kejriwal remains registered as a voter in the New Delhi-40 Assembly constituency.
