Delhi CNG prices have been increased by Rs 2 per kg from May 26, taking rates to Rs 83.09/kg. The latest hike comes amid rising petrol and diesel prices.

CNG prices in Delhi have been increased by Rs 2 per kg from Tuesday, adding to the fuel price burden on commuters already hit by repeated petrol and diesel hikes. The revised compressed natural gas (CNG) rates came into effect at 6 am on May 26, taking the retail price in the national capital to Rs 83.09 per kg.
The latest increase comes just three days after CNG prices were raised by Re 1 per kg on May 23. With this, CNG prices have gone up by a cumulative Rs 6 per kg in recent days, making it the fourth hike in a short span.
The back-to-back increase in CNG prices is expected to impact auto-rickshaw drivers, cab operators and daily commuters in Delhi and nearby NCR regions, where CNG remains one of the most widely used transport fuels.
The fresh revision follows continued volatility in global energy markets and a broader rise in domestic fuel prices. On Monday, petrol prices were increased by Rs 2.61 per litre, while diesel rates were raised by Rs 2.71 per litre. It marked the fourth fuel price hike in less than two weeks.
In Delhi, petrol prices climbed from Rs 99.51 to Rs 102.12 per litre, while diesel prices rose from Rs 92.49 to Rs 95.20 per litre, according to industry sources.
Over the last 10 days, petrol prices alone have increased by nearly Rs 7.50 per litre, reflecting the delayed pass-through of higher global crude oil costs linked to the Iran conflict.
Why are CNG prices rising repeatedly?
The recent spike in CNG prices comes amid broader fuel cost adjustments by oil companies following sharp fluctuations in international crude oil markets. The ongoing geopolitical tensions linked to Iran have pushed up energy prices globally over the past few weeks.
Although crude prices showed some easing recently, domestic fuel retailers have continued revising rates upward as part of the delayed price pass-through mechanism.
