New Delhi: Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has issued a crucial travel advisory for passengers, urging them to utilise the Delhi Metro and other alternative transport options to reach the airport due to "inclement weather conditions" and widespread waterlogging across the National Capital Region. The advisory, issued on Monday morning, aims to help commuters avoid significant delays caused by the ongoing heavy rainfall.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall for the entire Delhi and NCR region today, following a fresh spell of rain that began early Monday morning. This comes on the heels of heavy downpours witnessed on Sunday, which led to severe waterlogging and traffic congestion in various parts of the capital, including a notable slowdown at Rajiv Chowk.

"As per the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, Delhi is experiencing inclement weather conditions. Our on-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure your journey remains hassle-free," stated the DIAL advisory. "Passengers are advised to consider alternative modes of transport, including Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid potential delays."

Delhi has been experiencing incessant rainfall since Wednesday, leading to submerged roads in several areas, such as Bindapur in Uttam Nagar, and bringing vehicular movement to a standstill across many parts of the city. Commuters are advised to check real-time traffic updates and flight statuses with their respective airlines before heading out.
