The party accused the BJP of showing indifference and claimed the incident reflected its disregard for public concerns

Delhi: The Congress on Sunday, criticised Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda for continuing his speech even after a security personnel fainted during the 'Sardar@150 Unity March' in Vadodara, Gujarat, on Saturday. The party accused the BJP of lacking compassion and responsibility.
Congress wrote on X that the BJP had "sold out humanity and consumed it".
The Indian Youth Congress also posted on X that "During a BJP president's JP Nadda speech at an event in Gujarat, a security personnel fainted and fell down. But neither did JP Nadda stop his speech, nor did the BJP leaders seated on the stage take any steps to help. Think about it, if BJP leaders don't care about a person falling right in front of them, then how will they care about your inflation, unemployment, farmers' crisis, and everyday struggles? This is the reality of BJP: Power is everything, the troubles of the common people mean nothing."
What did JP Nadda say about Congress and Sardar Patel?
Earlier at the event, Nadda said the Congress had made significant efforts to erase Sardar Patel from history. He told the gathering at the 'Sardar@150 Unity March' in Atladra village that the party had even questioned the cost and need for the Statue of Unity built by the Narendra Modi government as a tribute to Patel.
Nadda said the Congress did not want Sardar Patel to be remembered. He told the audience that "The Congress, through a conspiracy, deliberately made great efforts to erase Sardar Patel from history. They wanted his name to disappear so that he is not remembered. For a long time, the Congress worked to ensure the Iron Man of India is not recorded in the pages of history."
He pointed out that while Sardar Patel passed away in 1950, the Bharat Ratna was only awarded to him in 1991.
How did Nadda defend the Statue of Unity and Modi's role?
Nadda said, "Prime Minister Modi truly remembered and paid tribute to him, in the true sense of what Sardar Patel was, what his personality was. But, when Modi decided to construct the world's tallest Statue of Unity in Gujarat's Narmada district as a tribute to Patel, the Congress raised questions about its cost."
He added that "The Congress asked why so much money was being spent. And when the 182-metre statue of Sardar Patel was installed, Congress members questioned what it would accomplish."
While speaking about Patel's efforts to unite the country, Nadda said that Sardar Patel integrated 562 princely states into the Union. He said that then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru let the Kashmir issue continue with his policies, even though Patel had successfully brought the states together.
