Telangana: A complaint has been filed 22 years after the tragic death of actress Soundarya in a plane crash, seeking a fresh investigation into the incident. The complaint, highlighted in a report by News18 Kannada, alleges that Soundarya’s death was not an accident but rather a murder, potentially linked to a property dispute with actor Mohan Babu, her former business associate.
Soundarya, widely known for her role as ‘Radha’ opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the iconic film Sooryavansham, tragically passed away in the plane crash in 2004. The complainant, identified as Chittimallu, claims that a rift between Soundarya, her brother Amarnath, and Mohan Babu led to the dispute.
According to the complaint, Soundarya and Amarnath had refused to sell six acres of land in Shamshabad’s Jalpalli village to Mohan Babu, which allegedly triggered tensions between the parties.
The complainant further accuses Mohan Babu of pressuring the siblings to sell the land, and after the crash, of illegally occupying the land. The report claims that the cause of the crash was never conclusively established, leaving room for speculation regarding its circumstances.
Chittimallu has reportedly filed complaints with both the Khammam ACP and the Khammam District Officer, urging the government to take control of the disputed land to benefit various organisations, including orphanages, military families, the police force, and media personnel.
The complaint also raises concerns about ongoing disputes within the Manchu family and demands justice for Manchu Manoj. It further calls for the seizure of a six-acre guesthouse in Jalpalli that is at the centre of the property dispute.
