CJP has renewed its July 20 ‘Sansad Chalo’ call in support of Sonam Wangchuk, but Delhi Police have refused permission for the Parliament march.

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has renewed its appeal for supporters to join a ‘Sansad Chalo’ march to Parliament on July 20, even as Delhi Police reiterated that the demonstration will not be allowed.
The proposed march coincides with the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon Session and comes as activist Sonam Wangchuk continues his indefinite hunger strike.
Wangchuk was admitted to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday for medical evaluation, further intensifying political attention around the protest.
Delhi Police said no permission has been granted for the march, citing security concerns around Parliament and the possibility of disruption to law and order and traffic in central Delhi.
Senior officers also maintained that the organisers neither informed the police nor submitted an application seeking approval for the procession.
According to police, the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar is itself unauthorised as the original permission had expired after a day, and protesters continued without fresh approval.
Authorities warned that participants attempting to march towards Parliament could face detention if security arrangements are breached.
Meanwhile, Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali J Angmo, questioned the medical findings released by Safdarjung Hospital, alleging that the family was denied an independent medical assessment after doctors reported a significant drop in his potassium levels.
She said the lack of transparency had raised concerns and demanded his discharge.
Amid the developments, Union minister Chirag Paswan said opposition parties appeared to be using Wangchuk's agitation for political purposes while expressing concern over the activist's deteriorating health.
He also defended police intervention, saying no one would want to risk the life of a personality like Wangchuk.
