For weeks, classrooms became protest grounds, campuses echoed with slogans, and students refused to let the issue fade into the background. On Saturday, those voices found what many protesters described as their biggest political outcome yet.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) welcomed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shortly after news of his exit emerged.

Reacting to the development, the organisation shared a brief but pointed message: ‘Long Live Student Power.’

The reaction came after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bringing an end to his tenure at the Ministry of Education.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke welcomed the move and posted, saying: ‘Today, justice has been delivered for the students.’

‘Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. This is the proof that if you don’t get scared, if you don’t bow down in front of this government, you can take anyone’s resignation. Don’t be scared in democracy,” he added.

CJP projected the resignation as a victory for sustained student mobilisation, arguing that collective protests and public pressure had finally compelled political accountability.

While the organisation did not issue a detailed statement immediately, its slogan underscored its claim that the students' movement had achieved a significant breakthrough.

The resignation follows weeks of political and student-led unrest over education-related issues, with opposition parties and student organisations repeatedly targeting the Union government and demanding accountability.

CJP has remained at the forefront of these demonstrations, organising rallies and protests while accusing the Centre of failing students.

With Pradhan stepping down, political attention is now expected to shift towards the Centre's next move, even as student organisations continue to demand broader reforms beyond a change in leadership.
