The Centre at an all-party meeting today briefed the political leaders on Operation Sindoor, a strategic military strike aimed at nine terror targets across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed opposition leaders on Operation Sindoor. They were informed about the selected targets, including the Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters and a training camp in Muridke, as well as the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur, both located in Pakistan's Punjab province
The opposition was briefed on India’s military preparedness in the event of any retaliatory action by Pakistan. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s assurances that the country is ready for any hostile move were reinforced Thursday evening by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, who told reporters that the armed forces are 'fully prepared to respond to a Pakistani misadventure, if any...’
The all-party meeting, which was chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and ministers JP Nadda and Nirmala Sitharaman.
Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge represented the Congress, Sandip Bandyopadhyay from the Trinamool Congress and DMK's TR Baalu attended the meeting.
Ahead of the meeting, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and briefed him on the developments regarding cross-border tensions and situation.
