A British family`s delightful reaction to Indian ginger tea on the Vande Bharat Express goes viral! See their surprise and joy experiencing India`s premium train service.

New Delhi: A British family’s heartwarming reaction to a cup of Indian ginger tea served aboard the Vande Bharat Express has gone viral, melting hearts across social media. The video, shared by travel vloggers @thehutchinsonfamily, beautifully captures the surprise, delight, and genuine appreciation the family felt while experiencing Indian Railways’ premium train service for the first time.
The family, including the woman vlogger, her husband, and their children, recently took a four-hour journey on the Vande Bharat Express, paying £11 (around ₹1,300) per ticket, a fare that included a complimentary meal. As they began reviewing the food tray served onboard, the vlogger appeared unsure about what to expect.
The meal box included a diet mixture, caramel popcorn, a patty, mango juice, and a ginger tea sachet. Initially, she found the snack patty “a bit dry” and described the offerings as “average”, until the moment of revelation arrived.
When the train staff handed her a cup of hot water for the tea sachet, she looked confused but decided to try it anyway. As soon as she poured the ginger tea powder and took the first sip, her reaction said it all. Her eyes lit up as she exclaimed with joy, “It’s really nice! It smells delicious too — wow!”
Her partner joined in the lighthearted moment, joking, “It’s diet mixture — they’re looking after people’s figures here!”, as their kids munched happily on the snacks.
In the video caption, the vlogger wrote, “India train food! What did you expect? We were confused with the chai powder… but then hot water arrived and it was so delicious. 4 hour train journey with snacks £11 each! That’s not bad”
Indian viewers flooded the comments section with pride and warmth. One user wrote, “Finally, some foreigners showing the good side of India — and appreciating it!” Another commented, “Vande Bharat is such a convenient train. Enjoy your journey, best wishes!”
Many others welcomed the family to India and thanked them for sharing a positive perspective of Indian Railways.
