New Delhi: A woman whose voter ID was cited by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his “vote chori” allegations in Haryana has reportedly come forward, denying any wrongdoing and calling the claims baseless.

Speaking to India Today TV, the woman named Pinky Juginder Kaushik said she personally cast her vote in the 2024 elections and attributed the controversy to a long-standing photo error on her voter card.

“I went myself to cast my vote in 2024. There’s no vote chori here,” Pinky said. “When I had applied for my voter card, it first arrived with a photo misprint, it had the picture of a woman from my village. We immediately returned it, but we still haven’t received a corrected copy. I cast my vote in the 2024 election using my voter slip and Aadhaar card.”

She further clarified, “The error must be on the part of the BLO or the election office. How is it my fault? When the mistake first happened, we had already requested rectification.”

Rahul Gandhi, during a press conference titled ‘H Files’ on Wednesday, alleged widespread voter fraud in Haryana, claiming that a Brazilian model’s image had been used multiple times on electoral rolls.

He stated, “...We have crystal clear proof that 25 lakh voters (in Haryana) are fake, that they either don't exist or they are duplicates or are designed in a way for anybody to vote...1 in 8 voters in Haryana are fake, that's 12.5%...”

Gandhi also claimed that a woman appeared to have voted 22 times under different names and at multiple polling booths. “...Congress lost the election by 22,000 votes...Who is this lady?... She votes 22 times in Haryana, in 10 different booths in Haryana. She has multiple names...That means this is a centralised operation...The lady is a Brazilian model. That's a stock photograph, and she is one of 25 lakh such records in Haryana,” he said.
