Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray has strongly denied allegations linking him to the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager, Disha Salian, and vowed to fight the matter legally. His reaction comes after Disha’s family approached the Mumbai High Court, demanding a re-investigation into her death, which occurred in 2020.

"Let the matter go to court. I will face it legally. My fight for the progress of the country will continue," Thackeray stated, accusing detractors of attempting to tarnish his image for the past five years.

Disha Salian died after falling from a multi-storey building in Mumbai, with the incident initially classified as suicide. The case gained renewed attention following comments by her father, Satish Salian, during a television interview, prompting the family to seek legal redress.

Reports indicate that the Salian family has requested a case be registered against Aditya Thackeray and has allegedly sought a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry, though these details remain unconfirmed by the family's legal representatives.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has criticised the timing of the renewed inquiry, suggesting political motives behind the move. Party leader Sanjay Raut expressed skepticism, saying, "It is not clear what the demand in the petition is. But the timing is important. There are suspicions that there are other forces behind the petitioner. The Disha Salian case is being stirred up to divert attention from the 'Aurangzeb' issue and the violence in Nagpur."

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve further accused the BJP of attempting to discredit Aditya Thackeray, asserting, "The BJP is trying to defame young leader Aditya Thackeray and put pressure on him."

Amid the controversy, Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat acknowledged lingering doubts surrounding Disha’s death, affirming, "If anyone is found guilty, they will be sent to jail." Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam added that the court's decision would be implemented.
