Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have declared they are in a state of constant readiness as the Election Commission of India (ECI) prepares to unveil the official schedule for the 2026 Assembly Elections today at 4 PM. Speaking ahead of the crucial briefing, party MPs highlighted that their focus remains on ground-level service and year-round preparation for the upcoming battles in Assam, West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry.
BJP MP Gulam Ali Khatana emphasized that the party’s machinery does not wait for an official notification to begin its work.
"The BJP remains prepared for elections 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in the interest of the people. Whether they are general elections, assembly elections, or panchayat elections, we are always ready, and our people are always working," he stated to ANI.
Similarly, MP K Sudhakar exuded confidence in the NDA’s regional performance, citing a strong "wave" in southern states. "The BJP party does not prepare for elections; we serve the country. We are confident that we will win in Assam again, and there is a good possibility of the NDA's victory in Puducherry as well. There is an NDA wave in Tamil Nadu," Sudhakar noted.
Other leaders shared this optimistic outlook, predicting a sweep across the five poll-bound regions.
Saumitra Khan claimed the results would be "good" and that the BJP is positioned to perform well and form governments across all five regions.
Kamlesh Paswan also noted that the party’s foot soldiers have already been mobilized, stating, "The elections will be in favor of the BJP."
Final countdown to the schedule
The Election Commission's press conference, scheduled for 4 PM today at Vigyan Bhawan, follows a rigorous review of poll preparedness. The upcoming elections will cover more than 800 Assembly seats across the four states and one Union Territory.
