In a recent appearance on the YouTube channel Lallantop, Bhelari alleged that earthquakes occur because boys marry boys and girls marry girls.

The clip, now widely shared on social media, shows the journalist confidently stating that same-sex relationships — gay marriage, lesbian marriage, and other homosexual unions — are responsible for causing natural disasters.

When the host tried to explain the scientific reasons behind earthquakes, including tectonic plate movements and geological processes, Bhelari flatly refused to believe them.

According to Bhelari, society has become “too modern”, and people are “accepting anything”, indirectly blaming same-sex couples for this supposed decline. His remarks have been widely slammed as illogical and prejudiced.

On November 18, Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, blasted him for saying that married daughters should visit their parental homes only on select occasions and avoid involvement in their fathers’ family matters.

Rohini had publicly asked who gave him the authority to dictate women’s rights and even released a phone call exposing her disagreement.
