New Delhi: A family in Noida endured a terrifying cab ride when their driver refused to stop, allegedly driving recklessly for several kilometres in order to escape the police. The incident occurred as the husband, wife, and their children were travelling from Greater Noida West to Connaught Place in New Delhi. Roughly 10 minutes into their journey, traffic police signalled the taxi to stop, but the driver instead sped up and began driving erratically.

Throughout the ordeal, the parents repeatedly pleaded with the driver to stop the vehicle, with the mother sounding panicked and the father trying to reassure their frightened child, who was crying in the back seat. At one point, the family even requested to be let out so the driver could continue alone, but he refused, insisting that he was “driving safely” and that he would be caught if he stopped.

The situation worsened as the family claimed the cab had earlier collided with another car. The entire ride and their desperate appeals were captured in a viral video.

After the incident came to public attention, Noida Police acted quickly. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida, confirmed that officers at the Phase-3 police station detained the cab driver, seized the vehicle, and registered a case.

Legal proceedings are now underway, and the authorities have stated that all necessary actions are being taken in response to what became a harrowing experience for the family, especially their young child.
