Bengaluru: An auto-rickshaw driver was dragged on the bonnet of a car after the two vehicles collided on Wednesday afternoon in Bengaluru, the police stated.

The collision occurred at around 12:45 pm. Following the incident, the auto driver was dragged on the car's bonnet.

The incident, which was captured on camera and widely shared on social media, sparked public outrage after footage showed a red car travelling along the busy stretch with a man lying on its bonnet.

Eyewitnesses said the man was heard shouting and pleading with the driver to stop as the vehicle continued moving, allegedly endangering his life and that of other motorists.

Police said they had taken cognisance of the incident and registered a case.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Bengaluru, Vikram Ampte, the car driver, Suresh, has been detained and is currently being interrogated.
