
Bengaluru: A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Jogankoppa in Uttara Kannada district, where a 13-year-old boy, identified as Naveen Narayan, lost his life after a balloon got stuck in his throat. Naveen, a Class Seven student, was inflating a balloon at home on Sunday night when it burst and got stuck in his airway, his family and the police confirmed.
The sudden mishap led to breathing difficulties. Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, doctors were unable to save his life. The police have registered a case of unnatural death and have launched an investigation.
This tragedy echoes a similar incident from September in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district. Vivek Kumar, a Class Seven student at a government school in Siddhpurgarh, met a similar fate while inflating a balloon near the school gate. Despite being taken to the hospital promptly, he succumbed two days later.
These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers in everyday activities, leaving families and communities devastated by their sudden and tragic loss.
